Why do people worship celebrities?
Recent studies has shown that the majority of the young people support and engage activelly on social media with the "tv stars". The study has proven that any celebrity who exposes his daily life, his habits, his personality, gets a great engagement with his fans, the people who admire them. Athletes, singers, content creators, youtubers, models, is just a small group of people who get a tremendous number of followers on all the social connection platforms(social media).
Somebody would ask, but why they don't also get inspired by the actions of an author, doctor, lawyer, engineer or psyschologist ?
To answer this question, we can simply start by saying that every single person would like to be the center of "everything". Having magazines, news channels, broadcasters talking about "you" and your skills, the things that you have done pretty well, breaking almost impossible records, is one of the greatest senses of human pleasure.
We live in a world of social interaction, the period in which they push you to show yourself, your life, to engage with others and express your opinion. As is already known, the unseen work of a doctor who has saved a human life, can't get even the 1/10 popularity of an athlete who literally kicks a ball and surprises his fans with his extraordinary abilities. A capturing book which has been written by an author and is being loved by a few high intelligence human beings, can't even "touch" the popularity that a singer can get. Maybe what makes the difference is the access that people have in both of the options.
A tv is more commonly to promote and broadcast a show in which the people try to magically fall in love with each other, humilliate themselves, laugh with each other and critisize, rather than exploring the meanings of a poem, the healing abilities of a doctor or the power of a good lawyer in dealing with a major topic of the modern society. As you can see, it doesn't require any crazy knowledge, scientific degree or academic level to watch a football game, which makes it highly available to everyone.
