Greek who lives abroad is invited live on tv and is getting cut off by the journalist when his true words hurt (Democracy at it's best)
Taking a look at the Greek mass media can easily somebody realize that the democratic discourse with arguments is one of the several elements missing from the dialogues that take part in the TV panel shows. A few days ago, an excellent scientist, family man, with a documented and structured speech, love for his country and a role model for many, was invited to such a show, who through his videos and posts on social media tries to "awaken" , to raise awareness and give food for thought to Greek citizens, comparing, quoting and justifying his views on current issues. In one of his videos, he compared the prices of basic products sold in Dutch supermarkets with their counterparts in Greece. Watching the video, somebody quickly realizes that the prices in a Greek supermarket are much more expensive than in a Dutch one. Also bearing in mind that wages in the Netherlands are three times higher this reality seems comically tragic. During the live broadcast, the guest, Dimitris Savvidis, after mentioning that the prices are 1/3 cheaper in the Netherlands and that the price increase is not imported, also adds that one reason this situation prevails is that journalists do not touch on such issues and do not try to confront the politicians and officials who are responsible for this situation. Of course, saying something like that angered the journalist and he started raising his voice, not letting the guest speak, until he cut the connection with him, with quick democratic procedures. This is what happens in a democratic country when a citizen expresses his opinion, he is silenced. Who would have imagined that in a country where the term democracy, right, state was founded, several thousand years later some 'journalists' would violate human rights in this way.
